APPLETON, WI (August 6, 2012) – As part of a two-day 10th Anniversary Open House, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced plans for a MAMMA MIA! Community Flash Mob on Saturday, August 18 at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited to participate, and encouraged to view easy to follow choreography on the Center's YouTube Channel. An open rehearsal is planned for Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fox Cities P.A.C.'s Kimberly-Clark Theater, immediately prior to the public exhibition.
Richard's School of the Dance in Oshkosh choreographed a routine to ABBA's hit songs "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen" from one of the Fox Cities' favorite Broadway shows, MAMMA MIA!.
Tricia Bayer, a certified dance educator at Richard's School of the Dance is excited to lead a flash mob involving so many members of the Fox Cities community, saying "All of us here at Richard's are ecstatic to be able to be a part of the Fox Cities P.A.C.'s 10th anniversary celebration. The opportunity to put together the MAMMA MIA! Flash Mob is an honor, and we're even more thrilled that it's sharing the art of dance with the community. We hope everyone enjoys participating as much as we've enjoyed putting it together."
In addition to the MAMMA MIA! Community Flash Mob, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's 10th Anniversary Open House will include a variety of other activities. Festivities on Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 will include live entertainment, backstage tours, theater workshops and activities for all ages. Refreshments will be provided for a limited time on Friday and complimentary Culver’s custard will be offered Saturday, while supplies last. Visit foxcitiespac.com for a full schedule of events. Program activities are subject to change.
First blog on new website
I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to our new website. It's been a long time coming and hopefully the new design and features will make it easier for all to use and understand.
Just a few highlights if you haven't found them out already. We have separate sites for each of our locations now in Oshkosh and Kohler, making it simpler to find out info for the location nearest you. For those of you mainly using our Oshkosh location we've organized and improved on our lists of classes making them easier to search and find what might interest you or your child, we've also organized the fitness and our newest yoga program classes as well.
Along with our new site we've added a new email program as well. You'll find our emails have gotten a bit more colorful and will hopefully be easier to gather the information you need. I do have to admit that not all technology is perfect so if you have not received an email from us anytime after July 10th we ask that you use the newsletter signup on our site to make sure that your current email gets on our list again and if you could let others know who might have been or should be on our list. We would greatly appreciate it. We did our best to transfer the old list but errors do occur.
And the last thing before I go today...we are still working on and hope to soon have our online scheduling and store live on the site. Keep your eyes open for that!
I hope everyone is excited for another great year at Richard's and we hope to make it even better than the last!
